Meet Victoria
2026 Cohort
Victoria Bello is a first-generation college graduate who entered the Computational Cultural Studies Ph.D. program after completing her M.A. in Communication and Rhetorical Studies at Syracuse University in 2026, where she was a Visual & Performing Arts Fellow. Her research seeks to understand how governments, content creators and online communities use social media for political communication. Victoria has presented research at the National Communication Association (NCA) and Rhetoric Society of America (RSA) conferences on topics spanning the representation of misogyny in film and the gendered logics embedded in political influencers content creation. Victoria’s overarching goal is to investigate how computational methods and critical cultural studies might work together to deepen our understanding of social phenomena within the digital public sphere.
